EVENT MANAGER
KEY FUNCTIONS
The Event Manager delivers outstanding business event and destination management programs for our clients. This GTA or Niagara Falls home based role will be a part of one of the most creative and hardworking teams in the industry. You will work closely with the sales and operations teams to maximize event impact. MCC Event Managers are able to execute the entire project cycle – proposal writing, sourcing, planning, budgeting, pre-event operations, on-site management and post-program reconciliation.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years experience as project manager (within events, communication or creative services)
• Knowledge of B2B Business Events – Meetings and Conventions/Incentives/Destination Management programs of various size and scope
• College or University degree, PMCP, CMP, DES or industry equivalent preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) | Other language skills are considered assets
• Experience in the design and execution of creative services – comfortable with Powerpoint/Keynote
• Comfortable with Mac software, presentation software, design software and Excel
• Flexibility in hours worked due to client and industry events, however must be available during regular business hours when not on-site
• Confidently Managing and Engaging and Servicing New and Existing Clients

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to organizational changes and changes in our industry
• Problem solving mind set and good organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Roll up the sleeves mentality is a must, our leadership helps pack goodie bags
• Ability to travel on program
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT & RESEARCH
• Establishing the design and event strategies for the program including the creative selection of the program inclusions, developing the creative elements from entertainment through to the “look and feel” of the event, crafting copy to showcase the event elements and support the event creative so that the design features of the event are presented in the proposal.
• Researching items and inclusions as well as any required client/event background for the development of the proposal
• Overseeing the event proposal development and participate in the pitch as required
• Participating in industry events for the purposes of product development and new client connections
EVENT PLANNING, EXECUTION & RECONCILIATION
• Planning & executing all aspects of event strategies—including project management required for program preparation.
• Leading & coordinating external & internal resources as project lead and project support
• Preparing, managing and tracking event budgets and event documentation
• Recommending and implementing event marketing tactics and recommendations as required and requested by a client
• Creating event briefs and reports for post-event evaluation including tracking key performance metrics for events
• Reconciling program budgets and prepare materials for final billing
• Working with other team members to support their event needs for clients or in-house for MCC
RENUMERATION
Salary based on experience $72000 – $85,000 + potential of annual bonus.
Additional benefits: 3 weeks vacation, sick days, health and dental benefits.
